The Yamaha YZF-R1 features Crossplane crankshaft technology employed in Yamaha’s M1 MotoGP race motorcycles. The company said that the technology removes fluctuations from inertial torque and ensures that combustion torque continues to build offering linear throttle response with more power.
It is also equipped with the Yamaha CC-T and CCI technology that provides instant throttle response and increased power.
In terms of looks, the sleek Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle has a smooth side fairing and only two projector-type builds, instead of the four-bulb headlight design, near the nose of the bike.
The Yamaha YZF-R15 motorcycle was launched in India in 2008 at a price of Rs 97,500 (ex-showroom). India’s first fully faired motorcycle, the Yamaha YZF-R15 offers 16.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 15Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm and a top speed of 140 km/h.
